The Foundation's current major project--remodeling the former United Methodist Church building--is completed. Our largest donations came from Lied Foundation Trust ($100,000) and the estate of Florence Michaelson, former Library Board and Foundation member ($142,740.00). The Foundation paid $48,000 for the church after it closed.A plaque for each of these donors may be found together on a wall titled "Pillars of Support", along with other major donors. Florence Michaelson's name and photo are in the Genealogy area and the meeting room. She was a member of the Methodist Church here. The final papers were signed on October 7, 2009, and remodeling began that day.On July 1, 2010, the Lied Battle Creek Public Library opened to the public.
The Foundation is no longer selling bricks for donors who want to memorialize their loved ones. Anyone interested in donating money to the Foundation for other purposes at the Library may click on Donations and print a form to send to the above address. Click on this link Pictures to view our next event coming on May 3, 2013.
